Three young Yankees, white guy Ted Ranch, black guy Audie Dixon, and white girl Jean go down South to talk about the civil rights movement. They are pulled over by two leering cops, and things turn ugly. Jean is eventually sentenced to 90 days on an all-black chain gang! The film came soon after the murders of three civil rights students in Mississippi. It has a mean, raw edge to it, making the viewer feel almost guilty for giggling at some of its more schlocky moments.
