Long before Boris Karloff bolts were screwed in, this was the first big screen adaptation of Mary Shelly's novel about the young medical student trying to create the perfect human being, but bringing a monster to life instead. The film was thought to be lost until a copy surfaced in Wisconsin in the 1970s.
